If we want to climb La Serrera peak, when we reach the Collada de Meners, we must leave the route and go to the left, following the yellow markings and the landmarks, along an easy ridge line. We return to the pass to retake the route back along the same path. We would add 2 km and 200 m to the established route.

We start the route in front of the Llorts Church, where we find a spring. We cross the road until the Iron Route, which we will follow to the left along a good path and cross the road at some point, always carefully, to reach the village centre of El Serrat. After a bend in the road, we find the sign indicating that we are entering the Sorteny Natural Park, and it will show us the way to the refuge, where we arrive after some steep sections.

We leave the refuge on the right, following the GR, a flat section among the trees, until crossing the La Cebollera stream, where go steeply uphill to the Pas de la Serrera, a pass that leads to the Pleta de la Serrera and later to the Pleta de Sorteny, some clearing where we will be able to see Collada de Meners, where we arrive after a find rocky ascent.

We turn right, following the route and the yellow markings, being extremely careful along this section. Here we will find some ropes that will help us at certain points to climb the ridge, until the final very straight face, where we will climb over the loose stone with the help with our hands, until we reach the top, with a last easier-going section. From La Cabaneta peak we will see L'Estanyó peak, our next goal and one of the Andorran giants, rising to a height of 2,915 m, which we will reach without any difficulty, after crossing a grassy pass and climb a trail over a short face.

We will then crown L’Estanyó, with its great fita or milestone, and continue along the ridge, following the yellow dots at all times. It is usually aerial but safe, and only have to clamber over short stretches. After the long ridge, we come to a well-posted elevation marker, where we will have a view of Coll d’Arenes, a broad pass where we reach after a fun final scree.

At the pass, where we find some signs, we turn right to start the last descent of the route, always along a path, first through a meadow and then through the forest. The descent will give us a break at the Bordes de l’Ensegur huts, which we will see on our right. We turn right through a meadow until coming to a vertical signpost, where we turn left and follow the signs for “Llorts”, which will lead us along a rapid descent, zigzagging between trees, where we once again come to the Iron Route, opposite the village, where we will reach the starting point along a gentle climb.
