To reach the starting point, take the CG-3 road towards Ordino-Arcalís, until km 18. In a few metres, we take the CS-370 road to the car park of the Vall de Sorteny Natural Park, where we find the park's information booth. We take the path marked as Vall de Rialb, not towards the Vall de Sorteny Natural Park.

The trail follows the Rialb river, passing through the Rabassa plain, until reaching the Rialb refuge in just under an hour.
In this first section of the route, you can admire the valley's U-shape, typical of a valley of glacial origin. On the right, before reaching the refuge, we find the remains of an orri (archaeological structure where sheep were milked and cheese was made). We arrive at the refuge, where we will enjoy spectacular views of the Rialb Valley.

We return the same way.
