To reach the starting point, take the CG-3 road towards Ordino-Arcalís until km 18. A few metres further on, take the CS-370 road, which leads to the car park of the Sorteny Valley Natural Park, where you will find the park’s information cabin.

From the car park, start the route towards the guarded Borda de Sorteny mountain hut (1,965 m). Along the way, you will pass the sculpture of l’Estripagecs and the botanical garden on your right. In this first section you can also observe remains of the valley’s former economic activities, particularly those related to livestock farming, such as traditional mountain barns (bordes), dry-stone walls and hay meadows.

Next, cross the Sorteny river and begin the ascent towards the Estanyó narrow pass, a natural passage located between the Roc del Rellotge and the Serra de Coma Obaga. You will cross a wetland area and, shortly afterwards, you will reach a wooden bridge that you should not cross. The final section features a steep slope heading southwest until you reach the Ferreroles coll. From this point, the views over Lake Estanyó are truly exceptional.
