To reach the starting point, take the CG-3 road towards Ordino-Arcalís, until km 18. In a few metres, take the CS-370 road to the Vall de Sorteny Natural Park car park, where we find the park's information booth.

We will leave the car park towards the Borda de Sorteny Mountain Refuge (a manned refuge at 1,965 m), we pass by the Estripagecs sculpture and leave the botanical garden on the right. We can see the remains of the evidence of economic activities such as livestock, with huts, dry stone walls and meadows. We cross the Sorteny river and begin to climb towards the Estanyó Gully (passage between Roc del Rellotge and the Coma Obaga ridge). We cross some marshy ground and shortly after we reach Estanyó Lake (2,340 m), which is a fishing reserve for the fario trout. In summer, there are often cows, horses and a few donkeys around the lake.

To get to the peak we take the trail that takes us through the Roc del Rellotge ridge (in this outcropping you can spot the Pyrenean chamois -Rupicapra pyrenaica- very early or late in the day) to L’Estanyó Peak (2,915 m), the second-highest peak in Andorra, after Comapedrosa Peak, rising to 2,942 metres.
