To start the route, follow the CG-3 road towards Ordino – Arcalís until you reach the village of Llorts. In the upper part of the village, you will find an information sign indicating the beginning of the path to Roc del Castell.

Shortly afterwards, the trail crosses the Angonella river and continues along an old cobbled path that gains altitude along the left bank of the river. Soon you reach a small junction with another information sign; follow the path that climbs to the right towards Roc del Castell. The trail continues through the forest, always close to the river, until at a certain point it changes direction and moves away from it.

Next, you reach a small scree slope and the steepest section of the route begins, climbing steadily through the forest until reaching a clearing very close to Roc del Castell. From this point there are spectacular views of the Ensegur valley, the Coll d’Arenes and Pic de Casamanya.

The route continues through the forest again, following yellow dot markings. The trail then begins to descend until reaching a junction where you can either return directly to Llorts or continue the route to the village of Arans. Following the second option, you pass  the Bordes de Sedornet on the left and continue descending through the forest until joining a section of the GR 11.

Following the white and red markings of the GR 11, you reach the CS-360 road. Follow it a few metres to the right until you find a small path that descends to the left and leads to the village of Arans. After crossing the village following the GR markings, you reach the CG-3 road. Cross the road and continue to the Arans bridge, where you cross the river.

Once on the other side, turn left to join the Ruta del Ferro towards the Mina de Llorts. The path follows the old royal road for approximately 2 km until reaching a small bridge. After crossing it, all that remains is to climb up an paved street that leads back to the village of Llorts.
