The wealth of water in Andorra, with its countless rivers and lakes, translates into an incredible range of possibilities for fishing enthusiasts.

Fishing in the lakes and rivers of Andorra

Fishing in Andorra is controlled in order to protect and maintain the country’s species population. Licences to fish in Andorra's well-stocked lakes and rivers can be applied for at the Andorran Government’s Licence Office. There is also a fishing tourist licence, as well as limited and no-kill fishing coupons

The fishing season varies according to the year, depending on the accessibility and the river conditions, and a suitable period is established each year for fishing in rivers, ponds and limited fishing. Fishing in the Ordino Valley

Fario trout, rainbow trout and spring salmon are the most common catches on the fishing rods cast in the parish of Ordino. Lake Tristaina is one of the best fishing spots in the Pyrenees, although other well-known areas of the Ordino Valley are Vall de Sorteny Natural Park, Estanyó Lake, Mig de l'Angonella lake and La Cortinada.

All these places are limited fishing areas, but there are also open fishing areas in the country's rivers and lakes, although at a certain time of the year.
