Step back in time and discover life in La Cortinada around the year 1600, when Andorra was an isolated mountain territory and each village relied largely on its own resources. Put yourself in the shoes of its inhabitants and explore the four pillars that shaped everyday life: water, land, community and religion.

At the heart of the experience are the Cal Pal Mill and Sawmill, built in the late 16th century and still operating until the 1960s thanks to the power of the Valira del Nord River. Discover how flowing water drove the waterwheel, turning the millstones that ground wheat into flour and powering the saw that cut timber.

Explore the mill from the inside and admire its ingenious machinery, from the millrace to the millstones, along with the original grain measuring tools and a collection of traditional and modern carpentry tools. Touch the flour, discover the building's architectural details and deepen your understanding through an engaging audiovisual presentation.

The experience continues outdoors among the ancient mountain farming terraces, where you will learn about the daily lives of farming families and wealthier households. The visit concludes at Sant Martí de la Cortinada, one of Andorra's finest Romanesque churches, with free admission.
