If you like little things, you'll love Ordino’s Museum of Miniatures.
It is the only permanent exhibition of the Ukrainian master Nikolai Siadristkyi, considered one of the world's geniuses of this tiny art.
The works you see include historical, cultural and/or philosophical themes and have been crafted from noble materials such as gold and platinum as well as common materials such as paper, fruit seeds or rice grains. The collection contains 14 pieces that represent eight years of very meticulous work to be observed under a microscope.
The Miniature Museum is also home to the work of the Chinese artist Liu Shouben, holder of the title of Grandmaster of Beijing. In this case, it is a private commission from the museum’s owner, which the artist accepted and performed with absolute precision. The collection includes small Chinese bottles, called "snuff-bottles", about 5 cm long, painted with motifs of Andorra. You can see emblematic characters, landscapes and national monuments as well as international motifs such as the Sagrada Familia, Chambord Castle and Park Güell.
And to end the visit, the Museum houses a collection of traditional Russian "Matryoshka" dolls and a sample of papier-mâché boxes from Moscow schools.
